The DECA State Leadership Conference, which will be held on February 25-27, 2024 at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs is in need of judges. We cannot provide this experience to students without you! Thank you for judging in the past and your consideration for this year as well. Thank you to new judges and your willingness to serve our students!
We are in need of judges for:
Prior to conference, not in person:- Friday, February 2 to Wednesday, February 14: Written Event Project Preliminary round- reading and scoring of projects. The written portion of the project will be scored prior to the conference. For the preliminary round, judges will receive electronic copies of the students' projects in early February. Judges will have almost 2 weeks to evaluate the projects at their convenience.
In person, at the conference:
- Sunday, February 25: Written Event Project Preliminary round- oral presentation judging (approximately 11:00am to 6:00pm). Judges will evaluate and judge the oral presentation portion of the written project.
- Monday, February 26: Written Event Project Reading and Final round (approximately 7:00am to 5:00pm). For the finals round, on Monday you will read and score the written portion of the projects in the morning. Oral presentation portion of the project will be judged in the afternoon.
- Monday, February 26: Individual and Team Role Play Preliminary round (approximately 7:00am to 5:00pm)
- Tuesday, February 27: Individual and Team Role Play Final round (approximately 7:00am to 1:00pm)
When registering for judging at our State DECA conference please remember to hit the "Submit" button after entering your information. You will receive a confirmation email with a copy of your responses. If you do not receive a confirmation email, you will need to submit a new form (most likely, you entered your email address incorrectly). Also, please be aware that occasionally some company work emails will treat these unknown emails from outside of your organization as spam. In that case, try using a personal email account. You can make edits to your registration by clicking on the "Edit Form" button from your confirmation email/copy of responses. You will also receive confirmation and follow-up emails from me as well.
Lodging reimbursement is available to a limited number of judges who meet certain criteria. This is explained on the registration form.
As always, your help and support is paramount to the success of this conference. If you volunteer to judge, you should block out the dates with the understanding that you will be judging at the DECA State Conference. Please feel free to invite any of your associates or friends to judge as well!
Thank you for your support and dedication to Colorado DECA.
Warm Regards,
Jill Valentine
